Internship Overview:
The GamesDepartment in Burbank is a team focused on games and interactivity research. Their goal is to explore ideas and technologies that will help them plant seeds for future products. Through this process, they conceive, build, sunset, and graduate prototypes in an agile manner.
The team is looking for an intern with a passion for engineering and that is not afraid to explore new technologies. The department intern will be working on exploratory networking and streaming based projects, working on prototyping and conceptualizing new projects/games, and potentially working on implementing new features and maintaining our in-house interactive content platform.
Desired Skills:
- Strong Computer Science fundamentals.
- Experience with C++, C#, Javascript.
- Familiarity with cloud based technology such as AWS, Google Cloud, Azure
- Familiarity with Streaming Technology, WebRTC, HLS, Dash
- Experience researching new topics and creating functioning prototypes.
- Strong communicator
- + Experience in Network based computing is a huge plus!

Nickelodeon's Animation Production internships are a great place to gain insight into the production pipeline. Interns will be assigned to an animated TV show and will assist the production team with various office responsibilities as well as shadow the production staff, observe creative meetings, attend story pitches, and gain exposure to the workflow. Production interns with an artistic background specifically can gain insight into artistic staff responsibilities and gain hands-on experience in the creative process.
Ideal internship candidates will be dedicated to the production teams, possess a strong work ethic and take on responsibilities and new challenges in order to gain a more detailed knowledge of the television industry and animated pipelines at the company. Candidates must have strong written and verbal communication skills, possess a strong attention to detail, have the ability to multitask, take initiative, have strong organizational skills, and are team players.

Managing @NickAnimation on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and Tumblr each day for a digital community of nearly two million total followers, the department produces several in-house videos and original content each year, from interviewing show creators and crew, to video editing and graphic design (using Adobe Creative Cloud), to copywriting and social media monitoring for each post.
Culture and Digital Community serves to celebrate and showcase the unique culture and history of Nickelodeon, to attract and retain talent, and to inspire fans by telling the story of the hard work and artistry that happens #InsideNick. Internship Overview:
Nickelodeon's Animation Technology department handles support for the productions and departments at the studio. This team is service focused and tests software, writes custom tools, integrates systems, troubleshoots, and provides consultation in regards to various production pipelines.
Potential intern projects include checking Maya files for archives, checking other archive records for processing errors, updating and rebuilding layouts in FileMaker Pro to implement established themes, building new layouts in FileMaker, writing scripts in powershell, building reporting features for Shotgun, helping to update documentation, in addition to various other coding projects.
The ideal intern candidate will possess some coding experience. Python knowledge is ideal however if the candidate does not have any Python experience but possesses a a strong computer science foundation, Python can be taught. Experience in Maya is a plus. Experience in or an understanding of Animation Production also a major plus.

Internship Overview:
Nickelodeon's Post Production department oversees all aspects of the TV Animation Post Production process. Much of the work is done in-house, but some work is done out-of-house. The key processes are:
- Collecting animation from vendor studios.
- Picture editorial work--Assembling and editing animation, Locking Picture for sound work, notating and budgeting animation revisions for retakes, updating retaken shots into the edits, adding visual effects, color correction, titling, final video mastering to HDCAM-SR tapes and QuickTime files, fixing QC errors in these elements, final duplications, and archiving.
- Sound creation and editorial work--spotting music, sound effects, and ADR with key personnel, reviewing music and sound effects, recording & editing ADR, final mixing, creation, delivery, and archiving of audio files.
Post Production Interns provide support as-needed to the Post Production staff that oversee these processes, and they get to learn about, observe, and at times participate in these processes at various levels. No required major however a strong interest in post production, film, tv, or audio preferred.
